Achieving Permanent Healthy Weight Loss: Your Self-Image is the Key

Healthy weight loss success will not last unless you change your self-image, and this is why 95% of people who lose weight gain it right back. Thereâ• • s a lot of good advice on the internet and in book stores about how to raise your metabolism and how to lose weight the healthy way, and still people all over the nation lose weight only to gain it back again. This is because many of these books donâ• • t include the essential steps required to change a personâ• • s self-image. How important is the self-image when it comes to achieving lasting weight loss results?
In this article, weâ• • ll be talking about how your self-image makes or breaks your ability to achieve healthy weight loss and to keep the results which you have achieved...
Your Self-Image Sets the Standard
Peopleâ• • s consistent actions arenâ• • t determined by how talented they are or how motivated they are. Instead, their consistent actions are determined by their self-image. Do you know anyone who is attractive but who doesnâ• • t believe it? Most likely, they donâ• • t act beautiful.
The same is true with talent and with everything else that people possess. A personâ• • s self image determines what character traits and skills they consider to be a part of their identity and these are the character traits and skills that a person uses in their everyday life.
Sure, you can force yourself to behave in a way which is inconsistent with your self-image, but you can only keep this up for so long. Eventually, your self-image will subconsciously motivate you to start acting in a way which is consistent with the way you see yourself. This is how someone can be â• • motivatedâ• • to live healthy and keep it up for a while, only to give up and go back to their old habits. This is how someone can receive a raise or a promotion, and still be living paycheck to paycheck.
Attempting to force actions which arenâ• • t consistent with your self-image is like holding your breath under water. You can do it for a certain amount of time by sheer force of willpower, but eventually your body will force you to come to the surface...and when you do youâ• • ll be gasping for air. This is similar to how people go on crash diets, but start eating like crazy when they get off the diet...and of course you know what happens when.
So if you want to achieve healthy and lasting weight loss, you must strengthen your self-image and make it consistent with the actions and habits of a healthy lifestyle. This is the missing link when it comes to achieving healthy weight loss.

Standards of Your Life

If you or someone you know has ever had the â• • yo-yoâ• • experience when it comes to achieving weight loss, this might be one of the most important things youâ• • ve ever read. Thereâ• • s a missing link when it comes to achieving lasting results in anything in life, and that one thing is your self-image. Ever since Dr. Maxwell Maltz made the breakthrough discovery that the self-image was the driving force behind a personâ• • s behaviours, motivational experts have changed their focus from working on behaviours to working a personâ• • s self-image.
So if youâ• • re ready have a leaner, healthier and more energetic body, itâ• • s essential that you understand the role of your self-image and how you can strengthen it to help you achieve your goal...
How the Self-Image Sets the Standards of Your Life
Your self-image controls your consistent actions the same way that cruise control affects the speed of a car. For example, say that you set your car on cruise control at 60mph, and put your foot on the gas for a moment, the car will accelerate to 65 or 70, but as soon as you take your foot off the gas, it will instantly level back out to 60mph. The same happens if you put your foot on the brakes for a moment, the car will slow down, but as soon as you take your foot off the brake, the cruise control will bring you back up to 60mph.
Now, picture your self-image as the internal cruise control. If your body self-image will only accept you as being overweight, it will influence your behaviors in such a way that youâ• • ll remain that way.
This is because it is internally â• • setâ• • to keep your actions consistent with the way in which you see yourself. True, you can force yourself to eat healthy and to exercise and you might even get your weight down that way. You do this the same way that you put your foot on the brake and cause the speed of your car to decrease.
However, if the self-image never changes, a time WILL come when it will subconsciously adjust your actions to bring you back up to your â• • cruise controlâ• • weight. The same is true when it comes to your financial life, and this is why people who live paycheck to paycheck can get a raise or a lump sum of money and up their spending in again until they are again living paycheck to paycheck. This continues until the person becomes aware that the self-image is subconsciously controlling their actions and they become consciously involved in strengthening it.
If youâ• • re ready to become leaner, sexier and more energetic, youâ• • ve probably already considered the physical things which you need to do to accomplish it. However, we all know thereâ• • s an ocean of difference between knowing what to do and actually doing it! After all, if we all did the things we knew were needed to get into shape, weâ• • d all look like finely chiselled Greek statues....weâ• • d probably also be rich and working a job that we loved. But the reality is that something controls our behaviours which few of us understand well enough to take control of it.
That one thing is our self-image, and in this article youâ• • ll be learning why this is and what you can start to do about it today...
How the Self-Image Controls Our Lives
How do people with a low self-image behave? Do they do things which add a lot of value to their lives and do they live by high standards or do they settle for less? Does it matter how talented or intelligent or funny or attractive they are? No, if they donâ• • t accept these things as being consistent with how they value themselves, they wonâ• • t even use them. Just think of the people youâ• • ve met in your life who arenâ• • t living up to their full potential because they donâ• • t value the good things about themselves.
You see, our actions arenâ• • t controlled by what our genuine potential is, they are controlled by what we believe to be consistent with our identity. You can work your butt off to change the outside, but if you donâ• • t change the inside along with it, the inside will influence your actions to set things right back where they belong. This happens without most of us even being aware of it. It happens when someone comes into a lot of money and ends up blowing it. It happens when someone has an opportunity for a good relationship but chooses a bad one.
Itâ• • s all tied to the image which a person has about who they are, what they deserve and what theyâ• • re capable of. This is especially true when it comes to the behaviors which control a personâ• • s physical condition, and thatâ• • s the connection your self-image has to your ability to achieve a lean and healthy body.
Strengthening the Self-Image for Healthy Weight Loss
The first step to strengthening your self-image is knowing what controls the self-image and that is this: the standard which you use to measure your own value. When you measure your value by how well you fail or succeed, your ability to manage both success and failure is weakened. When you measure your value based on approval from others, your life will be controlled by the opinions, perceptions and the emotional states of others. Believe it or not, this is easy to overcome, and once you do this, everything in your life becomes easier and more enjoyable.

UK Food Labels Give Incorrect Information

According to some experts the system that food labels are based on is highly flawed and misleading, with the calorie content of many items in our shopping baskets out by a staggering 25 per cent.
With many supermarket products already high in fat, sugar and also salt, this news comes as a shock to those who carefully analyse the fat and calorie content of their food based on the information contained on food labels.
The UK's food labels are in place to help people decide what to eat, but some experts are worried that they could actually be contributing to the nation's growing obesity problem as people are eating more calories than they realise.
Those who are worried about their weight and appearance should come for a consultation with leading cosmetic surgery providers, The Hospital Group. They offer a wide range of weight loss treatments from gastric band to gastruc bypass.
David Ross, Chief Executive of The Hospital Group said: "People can often become too focused on dieting, putting immense pressure on themselves to lose weight and keep that weight off. "What many people don't realise is that their relationship with food isn't just about a craving or meticulous calorie counting, it is also about their state of mind.
"Many people put so much focus on losing weight and studying the calorie content of their food that they often enter into an unhealthy cycle where they scrupulously count calories then over indulge in highly fatty foods.
"Those who want to lose weight and adopt a healthier lifestyle should consider a bariatric procedure, which can lead to dramatic weight loss and improve health.
"The Hospital Group, is committed to providing the very highest standards and all procedures are performed by an expert medical team in state-of-the-art facilities that are second to none." For more detail visit: http://www.thehospitalgroup.org/weight-loss.php

The Inner Game of Healthy Weight Loss: Self-Image Makes the Difference

You hear stories all the time about people who lose weight and gain it right back...95% of people who lose weight actually end up this way. Everyone has a difference reasoning as to why this happens, but most of these reasons have to do with things like discipline, commitment, metabolism...all of which are important. However, the explanation is really a lot simpler than that and once you â• • getâ• • this, you can do more than just transform your body, you can literally turn your entire life around. The reason has to do with your self-image...
The Role of the Self-Image in Your Behaviors
One of the most puzzling questions people have is what drives them to do some things and not to do other things. I suspect that if more of us knew the answer to this question, there would be a lot more people living the life that they really wanted and a LOT less people procrastinating. One thing is certain, your behavior is directly linked to your self-image. Think about it this way: people who are beautiful donâ• • t behave like they are beautiful...not unless that beauty is a part of their accepted identity. In other words, if they value it as being a genuine part of who they are.
If they do not, it doesnâ• • t matter what they look like, their actions will say otherwise. The same is true when it comes to talents and even to basic personality traits. People donâ• • t act in accordance with what they are truly capable of, they act in accordance with what they believe that they are capable of. So what happens when a person commits themselves to lose weight by eating the right foods and by living a healthier and more active lifestyle but they donâ• • t change their self-image to match?
You guessed it, the big yo-yo. This is the same reason people get into good relationships which they end up ruining or why people who are broke can get a big tax return or inheritance check, only to find themselves weeks later wondering where it all went. Your consistent actions will always adjust themselves to match what your personal sense of identity, your self-image.
The Power of Strengthening Your Self-Image
Considering that your self-image is in control of your consistent actions, imagine what the impact would be of strengthening your self-image. It begins with understanding the â• • inner compassâ• • which controls your self-image, and thatâ• • s the standard by which you measure your value. Having high self-confidence is more than just valuing yourself because what you value isnâ• • t nearly as important as the standard by which you value it. A low self-image is usually caused by valuing yourself based on one of the following four criteria: appearance, performance, approval/disapproval of others or your social status.
Strengthening your self-image begins with self-awareness, realizing what standard youâ• • re using to measure your value and developing a new and empowering standard. Once you achieve this, everything in your life becomes easier, including getting your body in to shape. *****

The Inner Game of Healthy Weight Loss: The Role of Your Self-Image

If you or someone you know has ever lost weight only to gain it right back, or started on a weight loss kick but lost their motivation, thereâ• • s a very good chance that the cause was their self-image. Few people consider this, but your inner image of who you are and what you are capable of is the compass for all of your behaviors, and therefore in control of your results. Itâ• • s been said by behavioral and motivation experts that itâ• • s impossible for you to consistently outperform your self-image.
In fact, in his book â• • With Winning in Mindâ• • Olympic Gold Medalist and motivational expert Lanny Bassham says that if you do anything which is out of sync with your self-image, youâ• • ll subconsciously move towards stopping that behaviour as soon as possible. For example, if a person who has a self-image which is out of sync with living a healthy lifestyle, theyâ• • ll only be able to live a healthy lifestyle for a short period of time. A good example of this is a person who gets on a healthy weight loss plan, and achieves some results, but then stops and gains all the weight right back.
The same is true if a person has a self-image which is out of sync with having financial freedom. This is how a person who is living pay check to pay check can start making more money, and up their lifestyle to where they are once again pay check to pay check. We call these behaviors self-sabotage, but most of us just think that the cause of the problem is something external, or a simple â• • lack of motivation and discipline.â• • However, at the core of this is the personâ• • s self-image, and in order to create permanent change, the self-image must grow to match the desired result.
The First Step to Self-Image Transformation: Self-Awareness
Iâ• • ve always told my clients this: â• • You must grow for the life that you want, not for the life that you already have.â• • What I mean by this is that if you want a permanent positive change in your life, you must grow, and personal growth begins with the self-image. Your self-image might not represent who you really are, more the person who you believe that you are. However, your self-image is really the only part of you that matters because itâ• • s the only part which is actively involved in your life. In short, your self-image represents the parts of yourself which you accept and value as being a part of your identity.
For example, no matter how talented a person is, they only use the talents which they value. No matter how beautiful someone is, their actions and beliefs only reflect that beauty if they accept it as being a part of their identity. The same is true with your self-image in regard to your weight, your level of physical activity and your eating habits. You cannot force these things to change without changing your self-image first, because your self-image is what controls your actions. If this is a change you are ready to make, read the offer below for how to get more free information.

3 Important Drinks for Dieting

There is an overwhelming amount of overweight people in society who are keen on loosing weight easily without going on crash diet or giving up the pleasures of good food.
However, it is very essential to understand that there is no easy way to loose weight and you cannot loose the extra pounds you have put on over a period of time overnight.
Apart from changing your food habits and lifestyle it is essential to drink right amount of liquid which is needed for digestion, kidney functions and flushing out the extra fat from the body. 3 Important drinks which help in dieting are water, green tea and 1 percent milk.
Water
As per researchers and dieticians water is the best source which helps in burning fat. If you drink less amount of water, your body will be dehydrated reducing the metabolism rate which tends to increase your weight. Drinking right amount of water increases you metabolic rate which burns the fats easily. Drinking two cups water every 1 hour increases the metabolic rate by 30%. Water helps in digestion of food as well as assists the kidneys in expending and expelling waste and extra burned fat from the system.
It is a known fact that protein diet helps you get lean. But high-protein diet requires additional water to break down stored fat and flush it from the system. Drinking water is the simplest way of maintaining correct body weight.
Green Tea
Green tea is associated with slimming qualities from decades and known to have many health benefits. Our daily food includes sugar and fats which produces "triglyceride" which is used as a source of energy to sustain. However, if there is an excess amount of triglyceride in the body, it turns into fat and causes obesity. Green tea contains powerful antioxidants called catechin polyphenols which activates the enzymes that can dissolve excess triglyceride and burns the fat. Green tea also simulates metabolism rate in the body and accelerate weight loss.
1 Percent Milk
1 percent milk is low in calories and rich in minerals, vitamins especially calcium and vitamin D. As per dieticians 1 percent milk being a calcium rich food makes the body to burn fat and stimulates the formation of new fat cells. This changed metabolism results in weight reduction.
Getting an appropriate body weight seems to be difficult but it is not impossible. All you need is to stick to your diet plan and drink plenty of water, green tea and 1 percent milk and get a body of your dreams.

You Can't Lose Weight If You Don't Drink Your Water

The Benefits of Water
In order to remain healthy, every person needs to make wise choices about their consumption habits. If not, having unhealthy items can eventually lead to weight gains and can contribute to other health problems.
Drink More Water
One of the simplest ways an individual can remain healthy and lose weight at the same time is to consume more water. This natural element is a major part of our bodies, which is why it is vital that we provide the body with the proper amount.
Many beverage choices that we can consume are not healthy for our bodies and can increase the fat in our bodies. Some of these bad drink choices include:
* Sodas * Energy drinks * Slurpees * Frappuccinos * And more.
These drinks are loaded with sugar and have an excess amount of calories, which require our bodies to work twice as hard. If we are not able to burn off those calories, they will turn into fat cells that make us gain weight.
Required Water Intake Levels
It is recommended that every person consume on average 64 ounces of water a day. While this may seem as though it is a lot of water to drink every day, the body commonly loses water through sweating, urination and exercising. Therefore, it is important to make sure that your body remains properly hydrated.
If your body becomes dehydrated, you can experience problems breathing, you may become weak and lightheaded, experience headaches or other symptoms that may put your life at risk.
Making Water Taste Better
Many individuals have their personal reasons for avoiding water. For instance, a person may not like it because there is a lack of flavor, it may have a funny smell or chemical odor, or it has a strange taste to it. However, if water smells bad or has a chemical taste, individuals can look find a suitable replacement.
> Many companies bottle and distribute natural spring water that does not have a bad taste or smell. > For those individuals that prefer to have flavored water, they should try adding some natural citrus to their drink. A couple of lemon or lime slices will make the drink tasty and refreshing.
High-calorie drinks contain an exorbitant level of sugars. Avoiding them is a great way to remain healthy and lose weight. Water supplies the body with a natural element that can enhance any weight loss plan. The Healthy Snacks-Lose Weight Connection

Is it possible that eating healthy snacks can make it easier to lose weight? This can be an important factor; however, you also have to pay attention to your other lifestyle choices as well. What makes snacking so pivotal is that it's something lots of people hardly pay any attention to. So, if you're already watching other aspects of your life, improving the quality of your snacks may be the one missing ingredient that's holding you back from weight loss!
The first step in eating healthier snacks is to stop eating unhealthy ones! You have to pay special attention to this point, as it's really the most critical one of all. This is your typical high calorie, high sodium, sweet and starchy snack item. Sadly, these are the most commonly consumed snacks, addictive stuff like cookies, danish, various types of chips, candy and so on. I would also include sugary drinks in this category, such as soda, sweetened fruit drinks and energy drinks.
Many people, when they try to eat healthier snacks, start eating items like bran muffins, whole wheat bagels and commercial yogurt. You're certainly better off with these than the junky ones in the preceding section. Yet they also tend to be overly sweetened and processed foods. The best kind are unsweetened, unprocessed natural foods that have healthy (if any) fats.
Lots of nuts are nutritious, high in protein and also in the healthy variety of fat. Of course, you should eat them sparingly, as they can also be high in calories. You only have to eat a few almonds or cashews, perhaps as part of a trail mix, to stop some mid-morning hunger pangs. Here are some more ideas: fruits such as blueberries, bananas and apples, popcorn made by air-popping, natural crackers with an all natural nut butter topping, avocados, and carrots.
If weight loss is your goal, it's also necessary to get regular physical activity and to eat well at your regular meals as well. While snacks can be significant, they aren't the only element to watch. Healthy snacks can be the "missing link" if your goal is to lose weight. Paying attention to how you snack from day to day is the first step!
